Scout

Adopted

Re-homed 01/23/11. Scout was found wandering along a country road in Oregon when good samaritan picked him up and took him to a local veterinarian. We were notified and he was released into our care while an attempt to locate his people was made. After an appropriate amount of time had passed with no response, he was officially entered into rescue. Sandy Wood, our OESROWS VP, interviewed and placed Scout in his forever home. Scout’s pet mom followed up with the following note:

“We were blessed at the end of January 2011 to be rescued by a sweet, sheepy boy whom we named Scout. His enthusiasm and love helped him fit right into our family. Scout had a few medical problems (skin & allergy) during the first few months. He has never been able to climb or descend stairs. At one point he was having such trouble moving around, he went to the vet to be told he had a ruptured or slipped disk in his back. Thankfully these issues have all been resolved.

We were able to move from the Tri Cities back home to Post Falls, Idaho at the end of October and Scout would like to report that this house is a rancher-style and stairs aren’t much of an issue here. He has brought so much joy to us. THANK YOU to all who were involved in his rescue. The photo is of Scout with his boy, Noah.”

UPDATE: With heavy hearts we’ve learned that Scout crossed the Rainbow Bridge on April 30, 2013 after a courageous year living with an inoperable tumor. In his pet mom’s words, “I just want you to know how much he was LOVED and how much JOY he brought to us.”

Scout will always be in our hearts.
